Oba Oladele Olashore

The Ajagbusi Ekun, Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa (1935-2012)

Right from the onset, Oba Olashore was clear about what he wanted in a school, one that will compete with its counterparts around the world and also offer quality boarding education of an international standard to Nigerians, living at home and abroad, and expatriate residents of Nigeria, who prefer to have their children educated locally.Oba Oladele Olashore was known across the country for many things. To some he was a banker, some an astute administrator, some a philanthropist, a dedicated traditional ruler and to others he was the Founder and Proprietor of Olashore International School.

There is no doubt about where the school would be situated, Oba Olashore chose to establish this school in Iloko, his home town. This singular act has bought about development in the community and placed the community on the global map.

Thus the journey began and on January 2, 1994, the school gates were opened to the first set of students. It has been over 20 years since Olashore International School was founded and there has been no turning back. Olashore has gained a reputation for academic excellence, promoting Nigerian morals and cultural values in its students, and equipping them for life. Knowing change is the only constant thing in life and in line with Kabiyesi’s stand that we must continue to learn throughout our lives, the school has constantly updated itself to stay abreast of education best practice. The school has produced students who have performed astonishingly well in their various field of endeavours.

Oba Olashore has continuously inspired us as a highly disciplined professional committed to excellence. He proved that a person can attain the highest peak of success through hard work.
